How to Speak with an Accent

The University of Connecticut (UConn) alumnus, David Alan Stern, from the graduating class of 1969 discusses his career as a voice coach and reveals his method of teaching accents and dialects. Before joining the UConn faculty, he taught accents to many critically acclaimed actors, such as Forest Whitaker, Liam Neeson, Olympia Dukakis, Julia Roberts, and Sally Field. Stern is professor and associate head of the dramatic arts department at UConn.
